Digital Envoy Acquires X-Mode

Company Rebrands as Outlogic and Sets Course for the Highest Standard in Location Data

ATLANTA – (August 4th, 2021) –Digital Envoy, Inc., the inventor of IP intelligence, today announced that it has acquired X-Mode Social, Inc., a leading provider of location data for the financial, cyber security, real estate and advertising industries. X-Mode will be rebranded as Outlogic. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Outlogic will provide Digital Envoy with high quality, consent-based location data to further enhance its offerings in Fraud Prevention, VPN/IP Proxy, and Digital Rights Management Solutions. Digital Envoy and Outlogic have a shared mission to enrich their clients’ decision making and innovation by providing the world’s most valuable IP and location intelligence, while preserving the safety and privacy of consumers.

“It’s been an incredible journey over the past 3 years, building one of the largest location panels in the market for hundreds of enterprise clients leveraging our technology and data for innovative use-cases,” stated Josh Anton, former CEO of X-Mode and now Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) of Digital Envoy. “As a pioneer in the location data industry, our vision was always to set the standard for location data. The acquisition of X-Mode (Outlogic) by Digital Envoy creates an exciting chapter for the location data industry, enabling us to be front and center, leading the conversation around creating a uniform standard for the collection of high-quality, consent-based location data.”

“We are very excited by the addition of Outlogic into the Digital Envoy family. Collectively we are committed to providing buyers with the highest quality, consent-based location data while also working with regulators to set clear standards for preserving consumer privacy” stated Jerrod Stoller, CEO of Digital Envoy. “While we have retired X-Mode’s XDK, we will provide Outlogic’s proprietary methodologies directly to publishers who have legitimate use cases to help them collect consented location data that adheres to the highest standards so companies of all sizes are able to build and scale their custom location solutions.”

Consumer privacy and data protection have remained important issues for the location and digital data collection sectors. Following the acquisition, Digital Envoy has instituted a code of ethics, created a data ethics review panel, implemented a sensitive app policy, and is hiring a Chief Privacy Officer. Historically, X-Mode has contractually prohibited clients from re-identification. Digital Envoy has taken additional care by shutting off all U.S. location data going to defense contractors.

The Company will also continue its Data For Good initiative, by providing high quality data to researchers and policymakers, and collaborate on transformative social initiatives by delivering the benefits of location data to everyone. Our data has been integral in confronting the COVID-19 pandemic, the fight against human trafficking, and the optimization of emergency vehicle and evacuation routes during natural disasters, among powering many other essential social services.
