BroadStream to Integrate Geo-Targeting Capabilities with Digital Media Management & Monitoring Tools

BroadStream Will Add Internet Technologies from Digital Envoy To Digital Media Platform to Enhance Geographic Location Reporting

LONG BEACH, CA, June 20,2001 -- BroadStream, Inc. has reached a technology partnership agreement to integrate geo-targeting technologies developed by Atlanta-based Digital Envoy, Inc., as part of BroadStream's integrated Digital Media Platform (DMP). The agreement was announced by BroadStream today at the Streaming Media West 2001 Conference and Exhibition in Long Beach (Booth #926).

BroadStream, based in Woodland Hills, Calif., will use capabilities of Digital Envoy's NetAcuity technology to help determine the geographic location and identify the service providers of any end-user device - whether it is wireless, PC or any other system. The geo-location features are an enhancement of BroadStream's own digital media performance management and monitoring capabilities and will enable BroadStream to provide even more accurate and complete reports on digital media distribution.

"BroadStream's leadership position in the management of digital media delivery systems provides an important endorsement of the accuracy and non-invasive nature of Digital Envoy's geo-targeting technologies," said Dave Schindler, vice president of business development for Digital Envoy.

Because BroadStream's integrated DMP uses a client-side media sensor instead of cookies as the means of detecting a user's location, customers will be able to ensure that individual users maintain their privacy. BroadStream's existing DMP features manage and monitor the quality delivery of digital media through unique client-side reporting and real-time measurement technologies.

"Digital Envoy's geo-targeting capabilities provide a much-needed solution to the question of how to accurately localize digital media distribution," Eric Shepcaro, BroadStream CEO and president, said. "Using NetAcuity, BroadStream will be able to target Internet users in any specific city or town, worldwide, and report back on their access of digital media properties with even greater levels of granularity."

Using a unique blend of digital content distribution monitoring technologies, BroadStream already makes use of the industry's most advanced set of user-side data retrieval technologies and diagnostic support tools to furnish Webcasters and other digital content delivery professionals with real-time feedback on the size of their audience and how well they are receiving the content. In addition, BroadStream's performance assurance services make sure that content is delivered via the highest quality, lowest cost route through the delivery network.
